The Deakin Residence

The Deakin residence provided the challenge of developing a landscape design that worked with the new building and the existing slope of the site. The Client wanted a multi-use space comprised of formal paved areas for entertaining guests, and a grass area for their children to play on. This was to be complemented by a dark, glossy, formal planting palette and strategy that would provide year-round greenery and screening from the northern, midday sun.  

The design created a formal, terraced grassed zone off the back of the house, that transitions down a set of formal stairs to a lower paved, BBQ area. The hardscapes are finished with two varieties of gorgeous marble which complement the colour palette of the building. The surrounding planting beds follow the existing site grading with feature magnolia trees provide screening to the north.  Beautiful in its simplicity this house was designed by Collins Caddaye Architects, and constructed by Manteena Residential, complete with stunning gardens designed by DSB landscape architects it was an absolute privilege to work on this project

Red Hill Residence

'Hillview' provided the opportunity to develop a landscape on a heritage site within Mugga Way. The extremely large block was home to more than 150 mature trees that were to be retained as part of the new works. The Client wanted an ‘English Cottage’ garden to complement the existing heritage building, but with modern elements. The design was focused on the front landscape zone as the first stage of works.


The design for this zone included a formal, terraced landscape to the front entry, with formal pavements, planting beds, sculptures, and a modern water feature.  The lower terrace included the existing driveway, a large open grass area and a new formal seating area at the end of the main axis leading from the front door. Extensive planting beds make up the perimeter of the site, with informal masses of a variety of ‘English cottage’ species’. The existing, deciduous tree plantings were supplemented with new, formal plantings such as Dichondra and Jasmine.  Designed by DSB landscape Architects and executed with passion by New Level Landscapes the finished result is a lush, formal cottage garden with modern aspects that provide multi-use spaces for the client and their family to enjoy year-round. 

Campbell Residence

The Campbell Residence provided the opportunity for dsb Landscape Architects & New Level Landscapes to push the boundaries of design, materials, and construction for a private residential project.  dsb Landscape Architects designed this outdoor area to complement not only the architectural design of the client's new home but also their lifestyle.


New Level Landscapes has worked together with dsb and the client to deliver a high standard of construction and customer service that has left all parties extremely happy. As New Level Landscape's largest project to date, the process did not come without some challenges, though the outcome is priceless.  The goal to provide a modern entertaining area and a lush garden was reached and the clients are left with a garden that will bring them joy for years to come.

The front garden is a reflection of the architectural design, with angular garden beds and contrasting white pebble with black mulch it complements the house and will grow to have lush green carpets of plants to soften the angles in time.

At the rear, the hedging and screening will ensure a private oasis in the years to come, so the family can enjoy the pool and surrounds to the fullest.  The entertaining area, complete with pizza oven and fire pit will make any party a hit, with lush green planting that will surround the area in little to no time at all. The lawns complement the house with their angles, yet adding a soft and luxurious touch to the areas, while the Synthetic area provides a practical area for trampolining and basketball, hidden from view from most areas of the garden, it's the perfect place for the day - to - day clutter of family life.
